The Gateway to Education, Information and Technology

Membership

  • Applications
    • When a new agent wishes to join the board, he/she must fill out an online application for membership (If you fax or mail an application, it will be discarded as an out-of-date application.).  Please have the agent read over the application to make sure all required information is provided, and the correct fees are submitted.  Please include a legible copy of the agent’s 45 day permit sponsor card.

A Letter of Good Standing is required for all transferring agents when transferring from board to board.  Please have the former board of Realtors forward the Letter of Good Standing to mem.acct@nsbar.org when applying for membership.  This will expedite the application process.

Sentrilock – All Sentrilock equipment is now purchased and board-specific.  When transferring boards, it is necessary to have the agent come to the NSBAR Northbrook or Barrington office and purchase a new Sentrilock Smartcard. If they own any equipment, they will be able to reprogram it with the new card.  Please note:  Application and fees, with Letter of Good Standing MUST be received and processed PRIOR to any issuance of Sentrilock equipment.

Have brand new agents that need to attend new member orientation register before attending at www.nsbar.org, under the education section.  The day of orientation is always busy and confusing for new agents.

If you are confused about the MLS and board fees, contact NSBAR at 847-480-7177 or email mem.acct@nsbar.org

    • OFFICE ADMIN/SECRETARY:  When hiring someone as an office admin assistant, if they need access to MRED and they are NOT licensed, send their name and email address to mem.acct@nsbar.org. A request will be sent to MRED and an email will be sent to the admin from MRED with a login ID and a temporary password. There is no charge for this access.
There is no longer a limit to how many admin logins you request.
PERSONAL ASSISTANT:  When hiring a personal assistant, if they are NOT licensed, follow the instructions above for an admin assistant. The agent/broker that this PA is working for WILL be billed the quarterly MLS fee. NOTE: if this person is also LICENSED, the license MUST be held by the office they are working for, and the broker will be billed the DR assessment for holding their license. They can join NSBAR and have membership if they choose to do so, and just have an MLS login as a PA and/or an MLS login for their own personal use as a Realtor. Contact Kim Davis mem.acct@nsbar.org with questions.

  • Terminating
    • When terminating an agent, fax the signed-off license to NSBAR at 847-480-7362 or email to mem.acct@nsbar.org. If they leave on the 30th and you do not tell us till the 5th of the next month, they are then responsible for that month’s MLS fee. The termination date is the date on the signed-off license.
