It's time for you to stand out as a decision maker in the real estate community.  It's time to join a committee!

We are looking for a few members to serve on our NSBAR Committees.  These committees are the driving force behind many of the decisions the association makes. We need your input. It is imperative that members facilitate our progression in any way they can.

Please check the issues, committees, working groups or task forces that you have an interest in: Limit of two committees to serve on at a time and there will be term limits to assure everyone has the opportunity to serve and also to make sure there is a constant flow or new and fresh ideas!  You may serve on as many Forums as you wish!

 
This committee is responsible for improving and maintaining the health of the NSBAR affiliate program.

Communications Task Force will help develop social networking avenues; how to communicate with the 4 age groups; assess communicate avenues; develop ways for members to communicate with the public and how agents can contribute to the communities.  Staff Liaison Communications 

  
This committee makes a concerted effort to review all contracts offered and assure newest changes are incorporated into contracts. Meets as needed. The Multi Board contract is a regional committee.  Staff Liaison:

Have the group look over all our programs to see if there needs revision, different direction, new focus.  Should only take 2 or 3 meetings.  Help put the Mini convention together. Staff Liaison education@nsbar.org 
 
This committee is responsible for Code of Ethics enforcement by acting as a Grand Jury to select which complaints will be sent on to a hearing.  Meets as needed.  Must attend the IAR Professional Standards training in January each year to keep eligibility if selected to serve.  Must complete an application and test to be considered to serve. Application and exam must accompany the request to serve. Only those who complete the form will be considered for the committee. Staff Liason: terry@nsbar.org 

Ethics and Arbitration
Representatives from this committee serve on Ethics and Arbitration hearings.  Must complete the IAR Professional Standards training in January to keep eligibility if selected to serve.  Must complete an application and test to be considered to serve.  Application and exam must accompany the request to serve.  Only those who complete the form will be considered for the committee. Provide international services, targets the international market, identifies the members’ interest, needs and set up informational meetings for the membership.

Legal Issues Task Force will help develop legal updates, identify potential issues, assist in the agenda for the 4 owner/manager meetings.  Staff Liaison Terry 

 
This committee meets solely through the email. A monthly list of prospective members will be reviewed. If there is a valid objection this committee will serve as the hearing panel for the appeal. Staff Liaison: accounting/membership@nsbar.org 

Owner/Manager Committee will assist NSBAR with developing sales meetings in a box; how to bring NSBAR and its services to the real estate office; track agent’s business practices and how they market; how to recruit quality agents in the new world of real estate; develop third party questionnaire for buyers and sellers; conduit for NSBAR education. The Government and Political Issues Committee (GPIC) is principally charged with reviewing and addressing local government public policies that impact private property rights and the real estate industry.   Additionally, the GPIC assists the Illinois Association of REALTORS® (IAR) and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) in respectively addressing state and federal legislative and regulatory issues.  Lastly, the GPIC leads fundraising efforts for the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) and makes recommendations for support by way of RPAC. Staff Liaison: gad@nsbar.org 

Statistics Committee  
Group of 6.  Monitor the current statistics loaded on the web page.  Are they addressing the needs of the members?  Monitor the outside contractors that are writing press releases and interpreting the data.  Should we survey sellers? Staff Liaison terry@nsbar.org 

Young Professional Network 
NSBAR's YPN group is a non-profit organization sponsored by NSBAR.  It will serve as a resource for young real estate professionals seeking an edge in today's tough market.
